I tested this bug with the GOG.com version of the game.

The game loads to the menu properly, but it crashes frequently during gameplay.
Crashes occur:
- when starting a new game
- on area transitions
- when loading a previously saved game (some saved games load correctly though)
- when the Witcher enters Meditation mode (e.g. by a campfire).
The game works properly in Wine 2.22, this regression appears in the git
version.
Reverting the following commit fixes the problem for me:

Proof that it's using up the CPU.
When I close the program, the task isn't killed, and it hogs up a cpu thread to
100%, until I kill the process.

How it looks on linux
NieR:Automata is an 64Bit DX11 game on Steam. It has some rendering issues,
most areas of the game are to bright, especially the bloom.
Screenshots attached.
I made an apitrace, but unfortunately this comes at a whooping 1.4GB (543MB
compressed). If you still want it, I uploaded it here:

I don't know if it's possible to trim apitraces at the start, but if so, please
tell me and I'll shrink it down. It's just that I can't skip those parts of the
game.

the game "Crossout" will not open because of a loading error i think. The game
is new so that might be a problem.

Sometimes application suddenly quits and this message is displayed.

This happens after showing a splash screen so there is probably another
application started and whatever shows the splash screen does not check that it
started properly.

run `winetricks vcrun6` (bug 27109). Install as normal, all defaults. Run the
game, and ignore the messed up launcher graphics (bug 30975). Click the bottom
right gray button to get in game. A splash screen will show, and shortly after,
crash.
With native quartz, it gets slightly further (potentially bug 16733, but it's
hard to tell). If you add in native devenum, then you can get to the point
where it wants to download a patch.
So, winegstreamer is lacking here. I'll attach its output.

The isometric view is composed partly of 2D artwork and 3D animated objects and
characters. Most of the 3D objects are partially drawn to the point of becoming
invisible after a while.
Logfile is filled with :
fixme:ddraw:d3d_device7_GetClipStatus iface 0x13c940, clip_status 0x33e6e8
stub!
and also a few Depth/Stencil fixmes.
Note:
- "Disable texture blitting" must be checked in the advanced options of the
launcher, or the UI will be missing parts.
- "Enable Real Time Light" must be unchecked in the in-game options menu, or no
element other than the background and the UI will be drawn.
- Some part of the player character can be seen when he moves.
The demo specified in the download link also has this bug.
