If the goal is to get .NET 2.0 to install without changing the Windows version
our time is probably better spent on fixing builtin fusion.

Personally, my goal is to support symlinks. I use them all the time and there
are a variety of Windows applications that get upset about it. I'm not really
excited about it, but when I get some time I'm going to talk with the kernel
folks about adding support for an atomic replacement of a directory with a
symlink. You can already atomically replace a directory with a directory, so I
imagine that they won't be too resistant to the idea.
