I'm not going to hold my breath whilst I run further checks ** BUT ** it
appears to be working now.

Didn't use Linux much over Christmas period so there were a few updates and I
didn't try Pegasus and Wine immediately but today (Sun 18 Jan 09) I seem to be
able to send mail without a shutdown and do a selective download.

I did recently upgrade Pegasus to V4.41 but this did NOT solve the problem at
the time.

I'll run a few more tests and get back.
