NV crash on starting a new game after manually setting PID & VID in registry

So, I didn't actually get around to starting a new game yesterday (was waiting
to transfer my saves from a windows PC). Upon starting a new game, I get
another crash 
Full log attached...

The final GLXBadDrawable error in the log only pops up after I do an xkill of
the now crashed Fallout window
