If it looks the same with native and Wine d3dx then it is not a d3dx dll
problem. If I get some time for it I will run the demo and track the problem
down, but it is not related to this bug.

After a quick look I do not see any clearly unsupported features/opcodes
related to preshaders (though need to check more), but it uses effect pools
(for which my preliminary implementation in the test patch can easily be not
fully correct), and maybe something else in effects which I would check. Since
this is a demo do you have a link for it so I could reproduce the problem?
