Could you describe your setup a bit more? Are you using NVIDIA TwinView? Do you
run DOOM in OpenGL or Vulkan mode?
I think I had the same issue with games when I used NVIDIA TwinView. If I
remember correctly the NVIDIA driver emulates a single CRT in TwinView mode and
changing the resolution therefore affects both monitors. If DOOM changes the
resolution to 1920x1080, it basically disables your second monitor. I would
suggest to arrange the displays using xrandr without TwinView. This should fix
those quirks.
