There is a lot of code in Wine. If it was that obvious how to avoid breaking
things, it wouldn't happen. Moreover, I don't think there are any commits
between 4.21 and 5.0-rc3 that directly touch disk detection, so it really isn't
obvious after the fact either.

Regression tests make it a lot easier to find out what broke. Performing a
regression test is a good way to help this bug be fixed a lot more quickly than
it otherwise would be.

Also, what application are you using to automatically detect drives?
