Great, thanks. No new logs needed, your test confirms the issue is what I
expected.

Yeah, everything I wrote about d3d9 also applies to d3d8 (and it will need a
separate but equivalent fix, per usual). I don't think you need to test the
original version of the game (but I won't stop you for doing that if you want
:)
