Hello Todd,

I'm moving this ticket from Wine-Staging to Wine product. Apparently the
"Welcome" dialog is not shown in vanilla Wine as well. It's shown after opening
and closing database files but it will not automatically appear on startup.

No, the project is not dead. It's alive and kicking - with new maintainers
since considerable time:

Unless someone has a copy of the old Bugzilla database from
https://bugs.wine-staging.com it's hard to figure out what "Bug 343" was really
about. The search engines didn't index/capture the internal bug tracker
conversation.

Do you have by any chance the email conversation created by the tracker
preserved somewhere? Even a timeline would help, i.e. year/month. I've tested
with older Wine-Staging 4.0 - but even then the "Welcome" dialog is not shown
on startup. I'm curious, when did this ever work in Wine-Staging?
