If I had your app installed on my computer, I'd run it with
the problem (Wine current) and with the Wine version where
it worked. Probably it worked for a wrong reason, but it's
interesting nonetheless.

I use +relay,+win usually - sometimes I add event, message or
seh debug channels (depending on the problem : seh is for the 
access violations, event is often useful to understand 
display problems)

Now, the difficult part is to compare the 2 traces and
understand why there is a difference. If you can post the
2 traces on a web site, I could try to take a look.

Btw if your app is business-oriented, filter the traces for
your credit card number or other confidential info
before posting  :-)
