[Wine] .NET programs

I wonder about the benefits of running mono on top of wine, instead of
running a "native" version of mono? As far as I know mono uses a
custom self-drawn toolkit, which is supposed to work the same on win32
and linux, or am I wrong ... I am not really sure about it...
