[Wine] winecfg error - please help

I just compiled and installed the latest version of Wine (0.9.2.8) and
when i try run anything to do with wine like winecfg i get given the
error:

[Damo at localhost ~]$ winecfg

Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded.
The X11 driver is missing.  Check your build!

I am running fedora core 5. Please help!
