--- Comment #67 from P.Panon <ppanon at shaw.ca> 2010-02-10 16:34:17 ---
Thanks for all your input on attacking this bug Stefan. Regarding your point in
comment #49 regarding broken 32bit-compat libs, I suspect you are correct. That
was also Robert Hooker's suggestion when I filed an Ubuntu bug report
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/515933) and why I switched to Lucid Alpha 2.
Since I still have the problem though, I would prefer to get them to fix the
packaging issue so that it's in the distribution and I don't have to maintain
it. I therefore want to keep my system with a plain jane Lucid setup to test
any updated packages they might produce rather than to later have to clean
everything and reinstall the packages frequently.

Regarding comment #63, I don't suppose that if we opened a new bug for the R600
NP2, you would temporarily accept a separate patch for an np2 workaround for
the MESA ATI R600 if it can easily be rolled back when the Mesa ATI developers
fix their bug? I figure the answer is going to be no, but I thought I would
try. :-)
