In general, Wine does not support VxDs. Some programs will use the VxD 
when run under Win98, but not when run under WinNT. That is why Wine is 
suggesting you try that.

A good possibility :-(  The use of a VxD requires that someone reverse 
engineer it (or get the source to supply the specs) and implement it in 
Wine. The other possibility is to find a cracked version of the game 
somewhere.
