Can you get console/debug/winedbg messages from this problem?  We can't
know what's happening unless you specify what wine complains -- since
that's the part that's being fixed/worked around.

Oh, and you might want to make sure that there's an actual Temporary
Internet Files folder and that you have permissions to use it.  (Even if
it's on FAT -- since Linux is finicky about permissions and acts a
certain way when you use fstab to mount FAT partitions -- in my case,
chown root.)
