Steven, thank you for the contribution. I'll look at
it and submit the application to Wine CVS.

I'll look at it. Could you, please, create a bug in
Bugzilla about this and assign the bug to me?
It would be great if you also include information
about the build problems you have.

408.
Steven, I think the correct corse of action for you
would be to take the bug or, at least, add comments
with this information.
I took the bug some time ago and was going to start to
work on it. I'm lucky I have not started coding before
you give the complete solution.
Also, as Patrick noted, we can use any application,
even if it is GPL.
Could you, please, provide more detailed information
to the bug. If you want you can take it. Does ReactOS
have any other useful applications we can use
(winhelp, notepad, regedit come to mind)?
Thank you,
Andriy Palamarchuk

Dear fellows,
I have a small program called SetiQueue, that is an add-on to the
popular Seti At Home project. There has been a lot of interest for
various Linux/Unix ports of SetiQueue. Instead of doing such a port I
would much rather get it running on Wine. The program itself it rather
basic in it's OS usage and I am sort of surprised it doesn't just run on
Wine.
As not having Linux myself, I would be interested in knowing if there is
a Wine expert that would want to work with me in getting it running.
Either through changes in SetiQueue or Wine where ever appropriate. In
the end I think this would help both products be more robust.
In you have any questions or interest, just reply.
- Thanks, Ken
Hi,
I am trying to run a point of sale app on wine.
It uses a hard lock on the parallel port from
www.proteq.com .
This hard lock is implemented as a proteq.DLL , proteq.VxD pair.
I read the documentation and browsed the mail lists
and understood that VxD's have to be rewritten to work
in wine. It is impossible to run a native VxD due
to low level implementation conflicts between nix'es
and Windows. All VxD's are builtin so to speak.
I understand that www.proteq.com supports linux.
Therefore, for my windows app to work under wine without modification, I would
have to create a builtin proteq.DLL that accesses the linux's libs written by
www.proteq.com.
Is this correct?
Thanks!
Miguel

Hi!
I'm extremly new to this so please don't call me names! :)
I'm trying to port a Windows app to Linux using winelib. When running
./configure I get this error:
checking for atldef.h header... configure: error: Could not find the ATL
includes
What is atldef.h? Some third-party stuff? It doesn't seem to be included with
wine..

The last few days the NNTP server is painfully slow for winehq. Is this
due to the movement I read about, or does this have other reasons? It
takes often several minutes to retrieve a single mail.
Hi, I'm a Delphi Developer, and whilst my main project I am working on at the
moment works beutifully under WINE, the autorun menu doesn't.
This is (I believe) because it uses a RichEdit control.
I believe this is currently being worked upon, and I would like to be able to
help - I should be able to by creating test programs in Delphi and running
them under wine.
I am not on this mailing list, so please cc me in on any progress reports /
replys.
I attach the standard output of wine when running my autorun program, in the
hope that it might help speed bugfixing.

wine: Unhandled exception, starting debugger...
This is microsofts definition of atl:
"The Active Template Library (ATL) is a collection of C++ templates
included in Microsoft Visual C++ version 4.0 and greater. This template
library is intended specifically to facilitate the creation of Component
Object Model (COM) objects."
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/comsrv2k/h…
As shown by the definition it's a part of visual c++. I don't think
anyone has/is porting it to wine but i have only been following the list
for a couple of months and aren't really interested in atl so i might
have missed it

Michael,
How about showing us the source you are using, so we can help you
debug it?
thanks in advance ;-)
